Problem:

The Armco Steel Corporation (now AK Steel) in Middletown, Ohio, USA needed to keep a soluble-oil and water cooling mixture clean enough for re-use in their cold sheet mill.

Solution:

Up to 2400 GPM (9085 lpm) of skimmed coolant from the settling tanks was passed through Eriez Permanent Magnet Wet Drum Separators before re-use.
